Our Sailing Fleet

At Sunshine Sailing Australia, we take pride in our diverse and well-maintained fleet, designed to cater to sailors of all levels and preferences. Whether you’re looking to cruise, race, or learn the fundamentals, our fleet offers the perfect vessel for your training needs.

Cruising/Racing Yacht – Beneteau First 44.7

Our 2006 Beneteau First 44.7 is the monohull vessel in our fleet, perfectly blending comfort with performance. Its strong yet lightweight build ensures excellent performance in all weather and sea conditions. With both self-tacking and traditional headsails, you can experience all aspects of modern sailing. The addition of a foil and fuller allows for both cruising and racing training. The sail wardrobe includes two symmetric spinnakers (masthead and hounds) and an asymmetric spinnaker. Below deck, she features three large double cabins, seven separate bunks, a spacious saloon, and a galley for unparalleled comfort. The clean and user-friendly nav station, combined with meticulous maintenance, keeps her in top condition for your sailing adventure.

Cruising Catamaran – Lagoon 380

Our beautiful 2004 Lagoon 380 is the catamaran training vessel in our fleet. As the most successful production catamaran model ever built, it balances comfort and cruising performance. The fully battened mainsail, sleek design, and well-appointed interior make it an ideal training vessel. The Lagoon 380 offers ample space with its open-plan, fully covered cockpit, natural airflow, and four roomy double cabins, perfect for those dreaming of buying or chartering catamarans in the future.

Keel Boats – J24

Our primary vessel for keelboat training is the J24, suitable for sailors aged 16 to 80, whether for racing, day sailing, or cruising. Its flared topsides ensure a dry deck, while the “weekender” cabin provides warmth on cold days and ease of sailing by two people. With a combination of headsails and a spinnaker, we cover all aspects of sailing. Our well-maintained 1988 model, built to the same standards as the latest versions, offers a fantastic training platform. The J24 is sailed by more than 50,000 people in 150 fleets across 40 countries, making it one of the world’s most popular sailboats.

Dinghy Fleet – Vagabond 14

The Vagabond 14 is our chosen sailing dinghy for learning at Sunshine Sailing Australia. With a sail area of 9.9 square meters and a 110kg hull weight, it provides a stable and upright boat in all conditions, with the added option of reefing the mainsail if necessary. The comfortable seating ensures safety and ease, making it perfect for all ages and families. While optimal for three people, the boats can easily accommodate up to five children. These modern, high-stability, International One Design 6-meter keelboats are ideal for advanced keelboat training, offering a dynamic and exciting sailing experience.
