With the recent declaration of Coronavirus (Covid-19) as a pandemic there’s a natural curiosity as to what that means for courses and other adventure. Here’s our update.

Are courses continuing to run?

At this stage no courses have been cancelled. All our course sizes comprise of between 5 and 15 people. Significantly less than the guidance provided by the government on the 13th of March 2020. This guidance recommended gatherings of no more than 500 people, and does not apply to schools and other educational services. We will continue to evaluate the updated advice as it is issued.

What if I book a course and then get sick and need to self-quarantine?

We want to give you peace of mind to continue planning your sailing journey and courses, and we understand that it is difficult to tell when you may or may not come down with coronavirus and how that might impact your ability to get to a scheduled course. As such, we are offering the ability to reschedule course bookings free of charge for anyone who may come down with coronavirus or flu symptoms and wishes to self-isolate.

What is Sunshine Sailing Australia doing to provide sanitisation during courses?

We are providing sanitary wipes, spray disinfectants and individual frozen meals to minimise cross contamination opportunities. You will also be provided with a numbered life jacket that stays with you for the duration of the course, and we will provide new cups and utensils for each course marked with permanent marker to ensure that there’s a reduced risk of accidental sharing.
